Aug 10, 2019  As per the students and aspirants who have attempted the SBI CLERK mains Exam 2019 – Slot 1 (August 10, 2019), the exam was in the moderate to difficult level. The reasoning was considered to be the tough one when compared to the others and normalization will play a major part in the deciding of the cutoff marks (aka) final marks to select candidates for the regional language test.

There were 5 sections in the paper: Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, Logical Reasoning, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge. Each section had 40 Questions and total duration of the exam was 120 min.

English Language

Difficulty Level of the section was Easy to Moderate

  • Reading Comprehension – 1 sets = 10 questions
  • Cloze Test – 10 questions
  • Parajumbles – 5 questions
  • Sentence Improvement – 5 questions
  • Spotting Error – 5 questions
  • Fill in the blanks –5 questions

Reasoning Ability

Difficulty Level of the section was Easy to Moderate.

  • Syllogism – 5 questions
  • Linear Arrangement – 5 questions ( 12 people in North South Facing)
  • Puzzle – 1 Puzzle – 5 questions
  • Alpha numeric series – 5 questions
  • Data Sufficiency – 5 questions
  • Miscellaneous – 5 questions(blood relation and direction etc)

Difficulty Level of the section was Moderate.

  • Number Series – 5 questions
  • Data Interpretation – 5 questions
  • Simplification – 10 questions
  • Miscellaneous Questions – 20 questions

Miscellaneous Questions consist of questions from different topics such as – Profit loss, Average, SI & CI, Ratio & Proportion, Time & Work, Time, Speed & Distance, Boats & Streams, etc.

No Quadratic Questions or Data Sufficiency questions were asked in Quant Section.

Computer Knowledge

Difficulty Level of the section was Easy. One could have easily attempted 30 questions in the section.

General Awareness

Difficulty Level of the section was Easy to Moderate.

There were questions on the current affairs & Banking Awareness topics. This section also included questions on books & authors, currencies, Important Places, Awards, Headquarters, Prime Ministers Schemes, Important Days etc. Overall questions from this section were of moderate difficulty level. The Breakup is as follows:

  • 25 from current affairs and static GK
